Calgary’s OTHER “downtown ward”, Ward 8 includes demographics as varied as the folks living in estate homes in Upper Mount Royal and college kids living in tiny 7th floor walk-ups in Bankview. The Ward also saw heavy damage to the Mission area during June’s flooding, devastating local homes and businesses (we miss you, Wurst – come back soon!). Public safety and policing tops the priority list for residents here, with density and transportation making the list as well. Other communities that call Ward 8 home include Cliff Bungalow, Connaught, Victoria Park, Beltline, Elbow Park, Killarney, Glengarry, Lower Mount Royal, Richmond, Roscarrock, Scarboro, Sunalta West, Shaganappi, South Calgary, Spruce Cliff, Sunalta, Westgate, and Wildwood.
